EgyE 332: Energy Optimization and System Dynamics
Graduate course, Energy Engineering Program, University of the Philippines, Diliman
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Total system design. Systems theory and application of modeling and simulation techniques in energy systems design. Optimization models and tools for energy systems.
COURSE CREDIT
3 units (3 hrs/week)
COURSE OBJECTIVES
After completing this course, the student should be able to:
- Develop dynamic models of energy systems to analyze feedback structures, delays, and long-term behavior.
- Solve energy optimization problems using linear, mixed-integer, and nonlinear programming.
- Evaluate the assumptions, boundaries, and limitations of dynamical system models and optimization algorithms in the context of energy engineering.
- Communicate the results of modeling studies in a clear, concise manner through technical reports and presentations.
